Shahrukh Khan and Hafiz Saeed

What it meant to be a Muslim in India, especially after 9/11. Khan spoke, and this time he is not acting.

We all have heard the hot news of super start Shahrukh Khan in trouble because of his burning article in an Indian newspaper in which he expressed his feelings that he has never been accepted as a true Indian citizen, and he is always questioned about his loyalty and patriotism.

Shahrukh said that he sometimes becomes the inadvertent object of political leaders who choose to make him a symbol of all that they think is wrong and unpatriotic about Muslims in India. He further said that rallies have been held where leaders have exhorted him to leave and return to his “original homeland” (suppose to be neighbour country Pakistan). He further explains that despite being an Indian whose father fought for the freedom of India, there have been many occasions when he has been accused of bearing allegiance to the neighboring nation rather than his own country.

Shahrukh Khan, born on November 02, 1965, he is a famous Indian film actor, often referred to in the media as “Badshah of Bollywood”, “King Khan”, “King of Romance” and “The King of Bollywood”. He has acted in 75 Hindi films in ranging from romantic dramas to action thrillers. He born to Muslim parents in New Delhi, India. His father Taj Mohammed Khan (from Pathan tribe), was an Indian independence activist from Peshawar during British rule. According to Khan, his paternal grandfather was originally from Afghanistan. His mother Lateef Fatima was the adopted daughter of Major General Shah Nawaz Khan of the Janjua Rajput clan, who served in the Indian National Army. Khan’s father came to New Delhi from Qissa Khawani Bazaar in Peshawar (at present in Pakistan) before the partition of India.

Despite of being born and living in India from more than half a century, he has still not been accepted as a respectable citizen of India. Hindu extremists and fundamentalists often question his status as an Indian and frequently through hateful comments against him. Shahrukh Khan is one of a few Muslims in India who despite of all the social obstacles and dislikes, have managed to achieve success on their own, by hard work and true dedication to their fields, not only earning honour for Muslims community but also earning great pride and prestige for India, but Hindu negative mentality has never accepted them as true citizens of India.

Hate and discrimination against Muslims in India is not a new thing. This is happening ever since the 1947 partition. Indian media never publish any news and never even talk on this topic. Indian politician call their country the world’s greatest democracy and a true secular state, but the reality is quite different from the frontal fake and hypocritical face presented to the world.

Hafiz Saeed’s impractical suggestion to Shahrukh Khan

The news of Shahrukh Khan’s trouble has been widely publicized throughout international media, so in Pakistan. Different political and religious leaders made interesting comments. One of the most interesting comments came from Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, in which first he offered Shahrukh Khan a full support and then proposed him that he should move to Pakistan, if he considers himself insecure in India, further emphasizing that, he will be respected in Pakistan.

With all due respect Sir, you have made a very good suggestion to Shahrukh Khan but this will definitely not going to help Mr. Khan even a bit, but actually will make his position more questionable and complicated.

Hafiz Muhammad Saeed is considered to be one of the most wanted terrorist suspect in India for his alleged association with Lashkar-e-Taiba (an organization working for freedom of Muslims of Jammu & Kashmir), and its anti India activities. He, however, denies any wrongdoing and links to militants. –– Hafiz Saeed is a well known figure in Pakistan. He is social worker, human rights activist, founder and chief of charity organization name Jamaatud Dawa, he is also a great supporter of establishment of Islamic Rule of Law in Pakistan.

The solution given by him does not seems to be from him, but unfortunately it has been come from him. His suggestion is totally impractical and absolutely opposite of his own continued moments and given ideology for which he is struggling from about more than decades. — When the TV anchor abruptly asked him this question that, “What you suggest to Shahrukh Khan regarding his problem?”, and he said, “Shahrukh Khan should move to Pakistan if he considers himself insecure in India, we welcome him, and he will be respected here in Pakistan”.

Perhaps respectable Hafiz Saeed did not meant what he said,  if its true then it’s all right, no big deal, we all make mistakes and without wasting anymore time, Hafiz Saeed sahib must fix his statement, but if its true he really meant what he said, then this is a disaster. By following his suggestion, one can argue that let’s move all 200 million Muslims from India to Pakistan and to other Muslims countries, because they all feel insecure in India and all of them want help. And at a second thought, let’s move all Muslims from all non Muslims states, starting from India and then move all Muslims from Palestine to other real Muslims states, where they can feel secure. There is no more need to fight for Kashmir, Palestine or any other territory where Muslims are in trouble, because moving the people from one place to another will solve their problem. Right?

Muslims should be well treated and well respected in whichever territory they are living. Moving them from one place to another is not going to solve any problem. Moving may be suitable only when it is for a person, a family or a small group of people, but when it comes to a large number of people, an entire community, moving people is an absolute disgrace.

In case of Shahrukh Khan, moving a person like him, who has so much fame, wealth, deep roots where he is living and strong social structure in the society, is exactly like moving a whole community. –– He and all other Muslims in Indian should be treated well within India. Other Muslims countries can make their contribution through political support. Escape of no solution to Shahrukh Khan’s problem. We must support him where he is living right now and by uniting our efforts we can influence the Indian government in a way that no Hindu extremist or anti Muslim moment will ever be able to harm any Muslim in India.
