A School Without Furniture

Condition of a school of young children, of a country, whose rulers and politicians spend millions of rupees on their dresses which they display with great enthusiasm and sign of integral status.

A school without furniture

CHINIOT, Feb 4: A public primary school has been without any furniture since its inception 83 years ago.

The Government Boys’ Primary School, chak 128-JB Thathian, was established in 1929. The village is situated on Chiniot-Faisalabad Road, 13 kilometers from Chiniot

Since its inception, thousands of children have got education from the school.

Over the years, the government built three classrooms in the school without finishing them. The rooms are without any window and floor.  At the moment, children sit on mats.

Up to 150 children are studying in the school and only two teachers.

As there are no facilities in the school, villagers are migrating to other places for education of their children.

Ahmad Ali, a villager, told that he had to move to the Chiniot city to find better school for his children. Headmaster Muhammad Saqlain says teachers are the best resource to educate children.

Executive District Officer-education Mehr Ashraf Ali told that many schools were without boundary walls and essential items and he had asked the Punjab government to provide funds for them.
